Choosing the Right Laptop
Everyone is wary about spending money nowadays, especially during the crisis that the whole world is going through. Hence, if we need to invest in certain equipment or appliances, we should be sure that what we are buying is worth our money. At present, since working from home or online studying is the new normal to avoid risking our health, investing in a good quality laptop if you do not already have one is one of the priorities. Some of us are dense or overwhelmed with all the information when buying a computer or a laptop. However, there is more to a laptop’s appearance when it comes to choosing the right one.
1. Choosing the Right Platform
There are three choices to choose from: Mac, Windows, and Chrome OS. Choosing the right platform is based on your personal preference. Some are used to using Windows, so they tend to stick to that. All have there own strengths and weaknesses. It’s best to research this before picking the right one for you.
2. Choosing the Right Size
Yes, size does matter. Laptop sizes usually start at 11 inches and go up to 17 inches. This choice is also up to you, of course, if portability is what you are looking for, you might prefer the smaller sizes. However, you should take note that smaller sized laptops do not support high-end specifications as the bigger sized laptops. So if you’ll be using the laptop for gaming and work, go for the bigger sized laptops.
3. Choosing the right Specs
Choosing the right specification of your laptop can be confusing and overwhelming if you do not know the terms. It is best to do your research and ask questions first. Here are the main components that you need to do your research on: CPU, RAM, Storage Drive, Display, and Graphics chip.
4. Check Keyboard
If you know that you’ll be typing a lot, you need a comfortable keyboard. You would want a keyboard layout with full-sized keys. You can also find keyboards with back-lit features that will be easier to use on dimly lit places.
5. Brand Reputation
Each brand has a reputation for its products. You can see reviews of what other users have to say about a specific brand and model. There are also a lot of comparisons of each brand and model that you will find online. It is also best to be aware of this so that you can narrow down your choices.
6. Consider Your Budget
This is a huge factor. Of course, you should base your choices around your budget. There are many laptops now that are very affordable, but as you allot a bigger budget, you will be able to buy a laptop with better quality and specs.
